Savannah arts academy was established in 1999 as a Specialty school and is part of the Savannah-Chatham county public school system. Enrollment is based on specific academic criterion, as well as a successful audition in the desired major.

Sunday, September 23rd - SkyeLite Jazz Band will be performing for the opening of the Savannah Jazz Festival at 3:40pm in the Mansion on Drayton. More information about the event can be found HERE
Band Tutorials/Help Sessions/Make-Ups will be after school on Tuesday and Thursday until 4pm.
STUDENTS WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO STAY IN THE BAND ROOM PAST 4pm, even on concert days.
Thursday, September 27th - Fall Band Concert @ SAA; 7pm ($5 adults at door; students free)
Thursday, October 11th - Jazz Bands Concert @ SAA; 7pm ($5 adults at door; students free)
If you are a parent and have not received an email with minutes per our last Fine Arts Meetings that followed the first PTSA meeting of the 2018-2019 school year, please make sure you have logged in to Charms and submitted a working email address!
The Savannah Trombone Choir will begin rehearsaing on Monday, September 10th. High school trombone players are eligible to join; please contact Mark Spradley (email@example.com) if you are interested.
All SAA flute players will have a MasterClass on Friday, August 24th from 2:50pm - 3:40pm. The session will be held in the band room and students should be picked up by 4:15pm.
Our first PTSA meeting will be held on Tuesday, August 21st at 6:30pm in the auditorium. Following the General Session, we will break into our department meetings. Information for the Spring Trip to New York will be given at that time.

The first day of school is tomorrow, Thursday August 2nd!
Band students do NOT need to bring instruments this Thursday/Friday (August 2nd/3rd).

Due to low registration numbers, the Thursday, July 19th Advanced Band Practice and the Friday, July 20th Incoming 9th Grade will be postponed.

I hope you have had a wonderful summer! Please make sure you follow the link provided for the intent form for next weeks band clinics. Arrangements for guests have been made and we're expecting EVERYONE to attend on the rehearsal date for the 2018-2019 group you have been signed up for. If there is any confusion or question in regards to who, I will send a link out to students via Remind.
Pizza will be provided for participants. Students are asked to bring their own drinks/snacks as there will not be enough time to leave campus and return.
